Welcome to the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences
A liberal arts education at
DU will prepare you to derive satisfaction from and to succeed in a rapidly
changing world. It is not sufficient to learn academic content and skills;
you must learn to critically evaluate the vast array of often-contradictory
information that bombards us each day, to explore and reflect on human interactions
and artistic creations, to express yourself creatively and effectively,
and to adapt your creative skills to a constantly changing environment.
As you peruse the various departments, programs and institutes that comprise
the divisions of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, you will come to
appreciate the rich and diverse perspectives we represent. Check out our
