AHSS Scholarships

Arts, Humanities, and Social Science Scholar Award  -  $5,000 each

Two awards will be given, one to a student majoring in Arts and Humanities, and one to a student majoring in Social Sciences, both of whom will be a senior in the fall quarter (to be eligible for the award, students must have completed 135 or more credit hours prior to fall quarter).  Up to $1000 of the award may be used to reimburse expenses related to the student's academic or creative endeavors.  The remainder of the award will be applied to the student's account at the University of Denver.

Susie Ross Berry Scholarship - $4,000 each

Tuition scholarships will be given to four students majoring in AHSS, each of whom will be a junior in the fall quarter (to be eligible for the award, students must have completed between 90 and 134 credit hours prior to fall quarter).  Decisions are based on academic and creative excellence as well as financial need.  The scholarship is renewable through senior year if student continues to demonstrate need and high academic performance.

Bryn Sara Linkow Scholarship - $2,500 each

Tuition scholarships will be given to three students majoring in AHSS, each of whom will be a sophomore in the fall quarter (to be eligible for the award, students must have completed between 45 and 89 credit hours prior to fall quarter).  Decisions are based on academic and creative excellence as well as financial need.

Lindner Scholarship - $3,250 each

Tuition scholarships will be given to two students majoring in AHSS, with an interest in international affairs.  Decisions are based on academic and creative excellence as well as financial need.

Nominations for the above awards:

Completed nominations, due by 4:00 pm, Monday, April 7, 2008 in the AHSS Dean's Office, must include the following:

  • completed appropriate form;

  • two confidential letters of support from faculty members representing two different academic departments;

  • current academic progress report (APR) updated to reflect Winter Quarter grades;

  • list of student's academic honors, presentations, publications, academic or creative projects or performances.

When applicable, the Financial Aid Office will be contacted to determine students' financial need. The Elected Faculty Committee will review the applications and the award recipients will be acknowledged at the All University Awards Ceremony.
