ADVISING is an important part of the Asian Studies major and minor. Students should expect to contact the Program Director regularly for advising about courses, plans to study abroad in Asia, and career preparation.

Common Curriculum Courses
One Common Curriculum course may be applied both toward a Common Curriculum requirement and the Asian Studies major or minor; credits count just once. Or you may take more than one ASEM--the first will count toward your ASEM requirement, the second toward your major or minor.

Study Abroad Courses
Study abroad courses taken in Japan, China and India must be approved in advance for credit toward the Asian Studies major or minor. Please contact the Program Director for more information.
Transfer Courses
Transfer students must take at least half of their Asian Studies major or minor course hours at DU.
