German Marshall Fellowship
The Institute for Public Policy Studies has been one of only nine Marshall Memorial Fellowship Regional Partners since 2002.
The Marshall Memorial Fellowship was created by the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF) to strengthen the transatlantic relationship between the next generation of American and European leaders.
As a Regional Partner, IPPS works with GMF every year to:
- identify Colorado Fellows for a three-week intensive study of Europe and transatlantic issues
- coordinate the activities of European Fellows visiting Colorado to learn about the U.S. and its institutions, politics, and people
The German Marshall Fund is an American institution that stimulates the exchange of ideas and promotes cooperation between the U.S. and Europe in the spirit of the postwar Marshall Plan. GMF was created in 1972 by a gift from the German people as a permanent memorial to Marshall Plan aid.

Students must be college juniors at the time of selection. The Foundation also provides assistance with career counseling, internship placement, graduate school admissions, and professional development. Scholars are invited to participate in a number of programs: Truman Scholar Leadership Week, The Summer Institute, The Truman Fellows Program, and the Public Service Law Conference.
