Faculty at the Center for Judaic Studies work to bring national and international conferences to Denver to further learning in Jewish thought.
Aside from hosting our own regular events, we reach out to peers across the world ensure the conversations we have include different voices about the Jewish experience.
2nd Annual Southwest Seminar in Philosophy (May 2011)
This conference was held in Denver, jointly sponsored by philosophy departments at the University of Denver and Colorado College. Featured speaker Dr. Leora Batnitzky (Princeton University, Department of Religion) delivered a keynote lecture on the Jewish philosophy of Franz Rosenzweig.
Western Jewish Studies Association (April 2009)
This conference serves as a forum for Jewish studies scholars in this region to present their research, discuss pedagogical issues, network with colleagues in their disciplines, and share information about the funding and organization of Jewish studies programs. In 2009, CJS hosted the conference at DU; many CJS and DU faculty and graduate students chaired panels and presented papers.
