The Center for World Languages and Cultures

The limits of my language mean the limits of my world. ~Ludwig Wittgenstein

Welcome to the Center for World Languages and Cultures (CWLC). We are here to support and enrich your study of languages and cultures at DU.

Come to the CWLC to work with language tutors, take undergraduate placement or graduate proficiency exams, study less-commonly taught languages, and prepare for study abroad.

Upcoming

Directed Independent Language Study (DILS)

The CWLC is excited to continue to offer the DILS program for three languages this spring: Portuguese—Beginner and Intermediate; Swahili—Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced; and Korean—Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Due to overwhelming interest, all DILS programs are full for spring. Our next offering for these languages will be Fall quarter, 2013. Please check back!

Bosnian classes

The CWLC is offering classes in the Bosnian language during the Spring 2013 quarter on Monday evenings.

Please contact us if you are interested in studying a language not taught at DU.

New Graduate Proficiency Test

Starting in January 2013, the CWLC will be offering a new language proficiency test for graduate students in the International Masters of Business Administration program, the International and Intercultural Communication program, and the Korbel School of International Studies.

Faculty Workshops - continuing during the Spring quarter.

Come discuss some helpful and fun tools for language teaching and learning.
