PLACEMENT TESTING

If you've recently been admitted to the Department of Languages and Literatures, congratulations! You're probably wondering where you should begin with your studies.

  • If you're new to the language, you should sign up for the first introductory class: 1001.
  • If you've studied the language before, or if you're a native speaker, you'll need to take a placement test.

Placement tests are offered by the Center for World Languages and Cultures (CWLC). You can find out more about your language program's placement testing procedures by visiting CWLC's undergraduate placement testing website.
