If you're interested in gaining a broad knowledge of media industries, the Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies is the degree for you.
Grounded in history, foundations, globalization and media theory, this degree is intended to take advantage of the particular skills and resources of all faculty within the department. You'll learn about contemporary communications media, including traditional mass media and newer, interactive and digital media industries.
The major emphasizes coursework that examines the role and influence of media in society from various perspectives.
The degree affords you an excellent foundation for pursuing a variety of careers within communications-based industries, government, and nonprofits, and is an excellent preparation for graduate school. A general overall comprehension of mass communication also complements knowledge and skills gained in other degree programs, particularly those in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences or the Daniels College of Business.
