Professional biography

My research focuses on the consequences of trauma, particularly violence against women and children. I examine social-emotional and cognitive correlates of interpersonal violence (e.g., sexual assault, intimate partner abuse, child abuse and family violence) in youth and adults with the goal of applying those findings to intervention and prevention efforts. My program of research draws on multiple methodologies as well as theories from diverse psychological perspectives.
