The following scholarship applications for current students are due early in spring quarter:
Vandergrift Undergraduate Scholarship in Psychology
The $3,500 Elsie Lincoln Vandergrift Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student who shows promise and accomplishment in psychology. This fund was established by Ms. Dorothy Helen Hanson to honor her friend and mentor, Ms. Vandergrift Benedict, a DU psychology student from the 1890s.
All psychology majors can apply. Preference is given to students who have fewer than 75 hours of University credit by the end of winter quarter. Eligible students should receive an email early in spring quarter with application instructions.
The monetary part of the scholarship is disbursed during the subsequent academic year, beginning in fall quarter.
Bernard Spilka Undergraduate Scholarship in Psychology
The $6,500 Bernard Spilka Undergraduate Scholarship is awarded to the rising junior or senior judged most likely to make a significant contribution to the field of psychology.
This scholarship is named for Professor Spilka, who retired from the University of Denver in 1997, after 40 years of devotion to the field of psychology.
