Kristy is a doctoral student in English Literary Studies at the University of Denver. Her dissertation focuses on travel writing and travel magazines just before, during, and after World War One. Her research interests include both American and British 19th and 20th century literature, feminism, modernism, postcolonial theory, and travel theory. In addition to her publications, she has presented her work at several national and international conferences. Most recently, she spoke at the International Virginia Woolf Conference in Glasgow, Scotland.
Kristy has taught various courses at DU in both the Writing Program and the English Department. She also has held other roles at DU, including working as a tutor in the Writing Center, as the Assistant in the Gender and Women's Studies Program, and as the TA/RA for the Semester in London Study Abroad Program. Outside of the university, Kristy is a staff writer for Toujours Mag, a design and lifestyle magazine. She spends her free time gardening, exploring the Colorado mountains, renovating her 100-year-old house, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog.
