Shinsuke Eguchi

Interests:

Shinsuke Eguchi is a post-doctoral fellow on transnationalism, diaspora, and migration in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Denver. His research interests focus on cultural identity and negotiation, social and performative constructions of gender and sexual identities, same-sex relationships among gay/bisexual/queer men, transnationalism and diaspora, and ethnographic/autoethnographic research methods. His research has appeared and/or will appear in peer-review publications such as Journal of Intercultural Communication Research, Review of Communication, Qualitative Research Reports in Communication, Journal of Men’s Studies, and Sexuality & Culture. He received the Top Four Student Paper Awards from International and Intercultural Communication Division at the National Communication Association (NCA) in November 2010. At the Eastern Communication Association (ECA), he received the Top Paper Award from Voice of Diversity Interest Group in April, 2009 and the Top Second Competitive Paper Award from Intercultural Communication Interest Group in April 2011. Currently, as an officer, he is serving the Asian Pacific American Communication Studies and Division at NCA and the intercultural communication interest group at ECA.

Shinsuke received his BA in Speech Communication from San Francisco State University, his MA in Culture and Communication from New York University, and his PhD in Communication and Culture from Howard University.
