Interests:

Dr. Hao’s research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of critical intercultural, pedagogical and performance studies. More specifically, he is interested in the performances, constructions, and (re)presentations of Asian Pacific Americans, transnational diasporic hybrid identities, and whiteness in popular culture, education, and other everyday contexts.  He has recently published articles in Text and Performance Quarterly, The Review of Communication, and Basic Communication Course Annual. He has also received Top Four Paper Awards from National Communication Association’s Ethnography and Spiritual Communication Divisions.
