Interests:

Dr. Lair's research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of organizational communication and critical-cultural rhetoric, focused on issues of work identity, work socialization, the meaning of work, with an emphasis on popular representations of work and popular management discourse. His work (with co-authors) has been published in Management Communication Quarterly and The Handbook of Organizational Discourse, and he has received Top Paper Awards from both the Organizational Communication and Rhetoric and Public Address interest groups of the Western States Communication Association.
