Rahul Nair is an Assistant Professor at the History Department specializing in South Asian history with strong research and teaching interests in imperialism, nationalism, comparative development and demography. His dissertation entitled "Discourse on Population in India 1870-1960" examined the emergence of population as a problem in the public discourse on development in India. He is interested in exploring the history of South Asia from the larger social and economic perspectives of Asian and World History. He offers courses on Modern and Early South Asia, Indian nationalism, comparative imperialism and social and collective identity in South Asia. |
