Audition Requirements--Bass

Undergraduate (BM and BA)

  1. Major and minor scales with arpeggios (2 octaves)
  2. An exude by Simandl, Nanny, Bille, Storch-Hrabe Vol II
  3. One movement from a Bach cello suite, any key
  4. Any movement from one of the following concertos:
    Dragonetti, Koussevitzky, Dittersdorf, Boltesini No 2, or Vanhal
  5. One orchestral excerpt of your choice

Graduate (MM) & Certificate in Performance

  1. Major and minor scales with arpeggios (3 octaves)
  2. An exude by Simandl, Nanny, Bille, Storch-Hrabe Vol II
  3. One standard Bass concerto or sonata
  4. Two movements from a Bach cello suite
  5. Two contrasting excerpts from the standard orchestral repertoire except Beethoven 9 Recitative or Ode to Joy
