The Day of Your Audition:
Please have both your Lamont Application and University of Denver applications completed and submitted before arriving at your Audition!
Lamont will be open at 8 a.m. on auditions days. Check-in will take place in the lobby, just inside the main entrance of the Music School. You will be shown where to warm-up and then taken to your audition location. You may arrive as early as you like to warm-up. You should plan to arrive at least one-half hour prior to your audition to allow time to check-in and take care of any last minute details.
Your audition will include a brief interview. Be prepared to briefly discuss your goals and scholastic background. Be alert, articulate and positive. Please be aware of your appearance, dress as you would for an important musical performance.
If you cannot perform at your
scheduled time please give us a call and we will try to work around
scheduling conflicts. Call the Lamont Admissions Office at 303-871-6973.

Lamont School of Music Driving Directions
Driving from Denver International Airport:
Recommended route from DIA:
Travel on Pena Blvd. to I-70 west. Stay to right and exit I-225 south
to Colo. Springs. Stay on I-225 to I-25 north. Exit I-25 at University
Blvd. south. The center of the DU campus is just two blocks south of
I-25 and University at University and Evans.
Alternate route from DIA:
Travel on Pena Blvd. to I-70 west. Stay on I-70 to I-25 south. Exit
I-25 at University Blvd. south (205B). This route takes you through the
downtown area and has a greater potential for highly congested traffic.
Lamont School of Music:
Drive south on University Boulevard approximately 1 mile. Continue one
block past the fifth traffic light at East Iliff Avenue (Lamont is on
the southwest corner of the intersection of University and Iliff) until
you reach East Wesley Avenue. Turn right onto Wesley and the Newman
Center for the Performing Arts parking garage is located on your
immediate right.
Parking at Lamont:
Lamont's parking garage is located directly south of Lamont. Do not
turn at Iliff. Continue south on University one more block to Wesley.
Turn right on to Wesley and then into garage. For our scheduled
audition days parking is free so drive through the gate and park on an
upper level. If you are here for an ad-hoc audition please park on the
lower level (take immediate right at entrance). The parking is $1 per
hour. Once you park, follow the red awning covered path to Lamont lobby.
