Audition Requirements--Bassoon

Undergraduate (BM and BA)

  1.  All major and minor scales
  2. Two contrasting movements (for instance, movements from Vivaldi, Mozart, or Weber concerti, or Telemann F minor sonata), or etude (for instance, Milde Studies Op.24 or more advanced Weissenborn studies from the Weissenborn Method For Bassoon)
  3. Sight reading may be requested.

Graduate (MM) and Certificate in Performance

  1. All major and minor (harmonic and melodic forms) scales, three octaves where possible
  2. Mozart Concerto for Bassoon, movements 1 and 2
  3. One additional standard solo work of the student's choice
