Audition Requirements--Cello

Undergraduate (BM and BA)

  1. Major and minor scales with arpeggios (3 or 4 octaves)
  2. Two contrasting pieces of your choice, minimum difficulty level of:
         * Bach, Suites #1-3
         * Saint-Saens Concerto
  3. One etude of your choice, minimum difficulty level of Duport, 21 Studies

Graduate (MM) and Certificate in Performance

  1. Major and minor scales with arpeggios (3 or 4 octaves)
  2. A movement of your choice from the standard concerto repertoire
  3. Two movements (slow and fast) of unaccompanied Bach Suite
  4. One etude of your choice from Popper High School of Cello Playing, Opus 73

Artist Diploma in Orchestral Studies
