Welcome to the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music!

Choosing a music program that will prepare you for your professional career is one of the most important decisions you can make. The Lamont School of Music offers a conservatory-level education within the outstanding liberal arts University of Denver. I think you will find our program to be one of the most rigorous and intense music programs in the country, while maintaining a caring and supportive environment in which students are free to explore their full musical potential.

The heart of any great music school is its faculty.  Lamont's renown faculty of artist-teachers is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of musical leaders. Lamont's faculty maintain active performing, composing and research careers. Therefore, Lamont students have the unique opportunity to work closely with truly magnificent practitioners in the art of music. The student-teacher relationship is paramount when choosing a music school and we believe strongly in giving those relationships the time necessary to grow.

Located just 10 minutes from Downtown Denver, The Lamont School of Music is housed at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts. This palace for music making features an impressive 1,100 seat capacity Gates Concert Hall, Hamilton Recital Hall, Williams Recital Salon, 40 loft and virtual practice rooms, smart to the seat technology and a state of the art recording studio.
