Victoria Brandys
Biography: Born in Spain, Victoria Brandys was raised in Madrid where she attended the Universidad Complutense for studies in Biology, and the Real Conservatorio Superior de Musica, finishing her studies in Music Theory and Piano Pedagogy. She taught for a few years at her music studio in Madrid and married Cuban-born classical guitarist Ricardo Iznaola. They moved to Caracas, Venezuela for a year and then to the United States, pursuing their professional careers. After three years in Minnesota, the family of four moved to Denver, Colorado, where Ricardo was appointed to the Lamont School of Music in 1983. In the United States, Victoria pursued her career in the music business, becoming her husband's personal representative and then opening her own agency, Victoria Brandys Artists Management, through which she represented a select group of national and international artists for twelve years. During that time, Victoria took business and communication courses in Denver at the University of Denver, National College and the Metropolitan State College. From 1984 to 1994, Victoria was the Executive Director of the International Guitar Week Festival at DU. Before becoming the Public Relations Director at the Lamont School of Music in 2001, she was for six years the Community Relations Vice-President for the school's support group, the Lamont Music Associates. Victoria is co-owner, with her husband, of Iznaola Guitar Works, an independent publishing and recording company founded in 1992, devoted to distribute and promote Iznaola's works as a performer, composer and writer, and to represent him artistically through the management division of IGW. Victoria and her husband of thirty seven years have two grown sons, Rick and Victor, born in Madrid, who also live in Denver at present. |
