Biography:

Katherine Watt holds a Master’s of Music in Horn Performance from the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiano, in Lugano, Switzerland, where she studied with David Johnson, founding member of the American Horn Quartet, and Sandro Ceccarelli, principal/solo horn of the Milano Verdi Orchestra in Italy.  She obtained her Bachelor’s of Music in Horn Performance from the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music where she studied with Susan McCullough.

During her studies in Switzerland, Ms. Watt held the position of principal/solo horn of the Orchestra da Camera di Lugano. She also performed regularly with a number of orchestras throughout Europe, including the Berner Kammerorchestra, Stadtorchester Solothurn, Orchester Arbon, Orchester21 Zurich, Artesono Symphony Zurich, Symphonisches Orchester Zurich, and the Orchestra Arcadia Lugano.

Since moving back to the US, Ms. Watt has remained active as a musician, participating in various orchestras and chamber groups, including the Classical Symphony in Chicago.  She is currently a member of the Classical Brass Quintet located in Denver, CO.

Ms. Watt is the Assistant Director of Public Relations at the Lamont School of Music.  She is currently pursuing a Graduate Business Certificate in Marketing Communications from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver, with the goal of furthering her career in Public Relations/Marketing within the music industry.
