Thomas Ball
Biography:Dr. Thomas Ball earned a Bachelor of Music degree in trombone performance from Berklee College of Music, a Master of Music degree in trombone performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a Doctor of Arts degree in trombone performance/pedagogy and jazz pedagogy from the University of Northern Colorado. He is an active performer on both trombone and euphonium. With a wealth of experience in styles of music including classical, jazz, Latin, and all types of commercial music, Thomas is much in demand for live music performance and as a studio musician. He has participated in more than 30 recording projects and his debut jazz euphonium CD, Fishleather Jacket, won the Roger Bobo Award for Excellence in Recording in 2006. In addition to teaching at DU and maintaining a private teaching studio since 1997, Dr. Ball teaches band and orchestra in the public school system and is an active clinician and adjudicator. |
