Linda Shea just recently finished her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder and is now teaching at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. In addition, she holds the Music Director post for the Peakharmonic Youth Orchestra in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Guest conducting experiences include concerts with the Pikes Peak Philharmonic in Colorado Springs, the Broomfield Civic Orchestra in Broomfield, as well as guest appearances with various concert bands.
Prior to taking the job at CSU, Dr. Shea taught for three years at Cherry Creek High School, where she directed the orchestras, two concert bands and a jazz band. Past teaching positions include 12 years in the Cheyenne Mountain School District (Colorado Springs), two years in the Denver Public Schools and a one-year interim position as Director of Instrumental Music at Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac, Michigan.
As a clarinetist and bass clarinetist, Linda is a permanent member of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic and has also performed with the Colorado Symphony, the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra, Boulder Philharmonic, the Greeley Philharmonic, the Cheyenne Symphony and the Fort Collins Symphony. She also holds a Master of Music degree in clarinet performance from the University of Northern Colorado, as well as a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music.
