Kathleen Spring
Focus:Suzuki Violin Pedagogy and Repertoire BIOGRAPHY Kathleen Spring has been an active violin teacher for over 35 years. At the University of Denver's Lamont School of music, she teaches Suzuki Violin Pedagogy. Kathleen also maintains a large studio in the metro Denver area. As a registered Teacher Trainer for the Suzuki Association of the Americas, she teaches both students and adults in numerous summer workshops. Kathleen is also a long time member of ASTA, and received their Outstanding String Educator Private Studio Award for Washington State in 1996. Ms. Spring holds a M.Mus in Violin Performance from the Lamont School of music. Former teachers include, among others, Alan Bodman, Eduard Melkus, and James Maurer. Her music passions include playing chamber, teaching violin and Suzuki pedagogy. Her non-music passions are travel, hiking, and skiing. |
