Lamont School of Music

Artist Diploma in Conducting

First round of materials due by December 15, 2013!

The Artist Diploma program is a highly selective, intensive and focused program of professional studies designed to provide advanced training in the art of musical performance and interpretation. With a minimum of academic requirements, the AD is ideal for highly accomplished conductors determined to pursue a professional conducting career. The AD in conducting is offered to both choral and orchestral conductors.

Choral conducting students have the unique opportunity to study with Catherine Sailer, conductor of the Lamont Chorale, the Lamont Woman's Chorus and director of choral studies at Lamont.

The Lamont Symphony Orchestra provides a comprehensive and intense learning experience that prepares students for careers as orchestral musicians. In addition to conducting this award-winning ensemble in Gates Concert Hall, students also have the opportunity to work closely with conductor and music director, Dr. Lawrence Golan.

All AD in Conducting students will have the opportunity to conduct these outstanding ensembles in the spectacular Gates Concert Hall. Students are invited to explore our website or contact us at any time to learn more about this exciting opportunity; studying your passion – Music – at Lamont.
