Master of Music in Performance
The Master of Music in Performance program at the Lamont School of Music, offers professional
training in the performance of Western art music. The focus of the program is to provide
extensive hands-on training with a faculty of artist-teachers, preparing students
for successful careers in music. With 300 music majors, this selective program provides
a wealth of performance opportunities and a guarantee of a studio appointment with
faculty. The student-teacher relationship is paramount when choosing a music school
and Lamont believes strongly in giving those relationships the time to grow. Lamont's
faculty is focused on its ability to nurture and mentor the next generation of musical
leaders.
Students can choose from any of the following areas of study. Double Bass, Bassoon,
Cello, Clarinet, Composition, Flute, Guitar, Harp, Horn, Oboe, Organ, Percussion,
Piano, Saxophone, Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba, Viola, Violin and Voice.
