The Conservatory Program offers professional training in the performance, composition and pedagogy of Western art music. The emphasis is a hands-on, performance oriented training within a rigorous and innovative academic curriculum.
As a Bassoon student, you have the opportunity to study with the principal Bassoonist of Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Chad Cognata. You will also perform under the baton of Maestros Lawrence Golan and Joseph Martin (link) in the spectacular Gates Concert Hall. Because studios are kept small, all music majors at Lamont study with faculty and enjoy a wealth of performance time.
