Bachelor of Music in Recording and Production
The Lamont School of Music offers a four-year Bachelor of Music degree with a concentration
in Recording and Production. In our program you will take lessons on your instrument,
learn music theory and history (either classical or jazz/commercial), and learn the
art of engineering and producing great music recordings. Audio production students
at Lamont are trained as engineers and producers in the classical, jazz, and commercial/popular
genres. This program is especially well suited for students who write and perform
their own music. We believe that accomplished musicians make the best recording engineers
and producers. Therefore an audition in a major area of study is required.
Students can choose from any of the following areas of study. Double Bass, Bassoon,
Cello, Clarinet, Flute, Guitar, Harp, Horn, Jazz (any instrument or voice), Oboe,
Organ, Percussion, Piano, Saxophone, Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba, Viola, Violin and Voice.
