The Conservatory Program offers professional training in the performance, composition and pedagogy of Western art music. The emphasis is a hands-on, performance oriented training within a rigorous and innovative academic training. As a voice student, you have the opportunity to study with an extremely accomplished and well-rounded voice faculty, led by an international basso soloist, Ken Cox, and including Sara Bardill, Kate Emerich, Larry Glenn and Catherine Kasch. You will also perform under the baton of Maestro Lawrence Golan in the spectacular Gates Concert Hall. Because studio space is limited, all music majors at Lamont study with faculty, and enjoy a wealth of performance time.
We invite you to explore our website or contact us at any time to learn more about this exciting opportunity to study your passion, Music, at Lamont.
In addition to the Bachelor in Music in vocal performance we also offer a unique major concentration that combines both music and theater. Our music theater concentration utilizes our close working relationship with the Theater department. Students enrolled in this program will focus on aspects of theater through theater classes such as stage movement and acting. Catherine Kasch and other faculty coordinate this special program.
