Interests:

Areas of research and teaching: Research focuses on young people and their uses of new and visual media, especially as these uses are related to family relationships and occur in varied socio-economic contexts. Other research includes the role of North Amerian media and marketing institutions in the shaping of religious understandings; international and interdisciplinary developments in the study of communication audiences; and the role of alternative journalism and the entertainment media in various social movements.
