Programs of Study

The Department of Media, Film & Journalism Studies offers a broad-based understanding of the role and operation of the mass media in contemporary society.

Our undergraduate degree programs prepare students for the competitive and continually-evolving communications market. Students can choose from a bachelor of arts in digital media studies; BA in film studies and production; BA in journalism studies; BA in media studies or a BA in strategic communication.

Our graduate programs provide a unique curriculum focusing on the social, economic, digital, cultural, legal and public policy implications of the mass media, and digital media environments. Students can choose from a master of arts in media, film & journalism studies (student designed emphasis or video production emphasis); a master of science in strategic communication; a master of science in advertising management; a master of arts in digital media studies; and a master of arts in international and intercultural communication. Several dual-degree combinations in mass communications are also offered.
