Political Science at DU

Teaching

The department of Political Science at the University of Denver is dedicated to providing the very finest liberal arts undergraduate experience that resources allow. We also encourage public service, active citizenship, and the development of political organizational skills through internships, programs and service learning.

In addition, we encourage students to participate in the Cherrington Global Scholars program, where you'll gain experience at institutions abroad. For qualified students, our honors program allows you to engage in research projects that are closely directed by department faculty members.

Research

Our scholarly research is routinely published in professional academic journals and presented and major professional conferences. We view research to be a crucial focus of an undergraduate department. We think it encourages improvement in teaching methods and substance. And, research also provides an opportunity for advanced undergraduates to work with department faculty.

Service

We believe in serving the University and the community. Our department participates in peer review of manuscripts and grant proposals, conference organization, and consultation about curricula. Our department also participates in discussions and debates in various media and governmental agencies throughout Denver and Colorado.
