The University is in a major American city, with opportunities to intern with advocacy groups, the state legislature, the mayor's office, the governor's office, and the district attorney's office. Students have also worked on campaigns for public officials and ballot initiatives, and several of our students interned with the Democratic National Convention in Denver during the summer of 2008. Students find internships invaluable in connecting the learning they do in the classroom to the world of governing. We encourage our students to do internships. To best integrate their experience with their coursework, we offer a 2 quarter course during which allows students time to reflect on their experiences.
