MA 2012

The Department of Religious Studies congratulates its 2012 M.A. graduates:

Thomas Cahoon, Sandra Ceas, Liza Hanson, Carmen Lydon, Samantha Oehlerking, Gwendolyn Ryan, Daisy Vargas, and Hilary Watt Sontag.

  • Sandy Ceas is working as a part-time Associate Professor at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design, teaching art as a social interface with culture.
  • Hilary Watt Sontag is working as senior grants officer for Mapleton Public Schools.
  • Daisy Vargas is pursuing a doctorate at the University of California at Riverside.

 

 

MA 2011

  • Gary Bedford is pursuing a doctorate in the Joint PhD program with DU / Iliff School of Theology. 
  • Thomas Evans is pursuing a doctorate at Claremont Graduate University.
  • Reuven Geller is pursuing a doctorate at the University of Birmingham in Great Britain. 
  • Adem Irmak is pursuing a doctorate in Religious Studies in his native Turkey.
  • Marisa Ligons is working as an academic adviser in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at UC-Denver.

 

MA 2010

  • Iqbal Akhtar is pursuing a doctorate in the Ph.D. program at New College, University of Edinburgh.
  • Dora (Hoi Shan) Chong has returned to Hong Kong. 

 

MA 2009 

  • Richard Bishop is working in the Graduate School of Social Work at DU. 
  • Patrick Bowen is pursuing a doctorate in the Joint PhD program with DU / Iliff School of Theology.
  • Diana Carvalho Lalo is teaching and working in Special Community Programs at DU. 
  • Catherine Orsborn is pursuing a doctorate in the Joint PhD program with DU / Iliff School of Theology and is working as the Social Justice Living and Learning Communities Program Coordinator at DU. 
  • Adam Westbrook is Civic Engagement Programs Coordinator at Johnson & Wales University, Denver, where he also teaches part-time.
  •  Jamie Williford is teaching religion in community college in the San Diego area. 

 

MA 2008

  • Kent Kreiselmaier is pursuing a doctorate at Vanderbilt University. 
  • Rachel Tillman is pursuing a doctorate at SUNY - Stony Brook.
  • Christa Kuberry is pursuing a doctorate in the Joint PhD program with DU / Iliff School of Theology.
  • Erica Ferg is pursuing a doctorate in the Joint PhD program with DU / Iliff School of Theology, and teaches Islamic studies courses at Regis University, Denver. 
  • Alicia Olson completed her MA in Religious studies and is teaching religion in the Denver area. 
  • Christopher Roussel is pursuing a doctorate in Theology at Glascow University, Scotland. 
  • Lisa Dillman left for Spain in May 2008 to continue research on Sufi women mystics in Medieval Spain. 

 

MA 2007

  • Daniel Dillard is pursuing a doctorate at Florida State University with full funding. 
  • Aaron Sokoll is pursuing a doctorate in Religious Studies at University of California Santa Barbara. 
  • Jin Sook Kim is continuing studies at the Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley, California.
