Communication Management

With increased globalization of the social, cultural and economic spheres of contemporary life, the dissemination of information has become increasingly dependent on a complex web of human and mediated communication skills. To be successful in the fields of corporate and nonprofit public relations or corporate communications, students must develop skills in interpersonal communication, group and organizational communication, traditional mass media and new, ever-evolving digital media.

This module introduces students to the concepts and issues associated with different types of public information campaigns. Integrating applied skills from both human communication and mass communications, this module provides students with the applied skills, understanding and ethical foundations required to pursue careers in communication management, corporate public relations, nonprofit public relations, international and intercultural public relations, event planning and crisis management.
