Film and Video Production

The Film and Video Production Module is designed to facilitate a solid grounding for students in the theory and production of media arts. The focused sequence of classes is essential to students' ability to build a body of knowledge and work that reflects a critical approach to media production. Students are encouraged to consider the consequences and ethical implications of the approaches to style and content they choose.

Students are similarly encouraged to situate their work within the many contexts presented in the various production, history and criticism classes. The module strives to build an awareness of the technological changes inherent in the media production world and to reveal how those changes affect their aesthetic choices, career opportunities and their culture in general.

With this grounding in theory and practice, students will have the opportunity to participate as critical observers and producers of culture's most powerful media tools: film, video, and interactive media.
