Paul Colomy

Background:

Paul Colomy received his PhD from UCLA in 1982. His primary interests are institutional change, juvenile justice, law, the self, and social theory. He has published articles on these and related topics in Social Problems, Sociological Theory, Sociological Forum, Sociological Perspectives, and Symbolic Interaction. He has also edited or co-edited four books, including The Dynamics of Social Systems and Differentiation Theory and Social Change.  He is currently conducting a study of the origins of the juvenile court.  He teaches classes in social theory, self and society, American youth violence, kids and courts, and foundations of sociology.   (E-mail:  pcolomy@du.edu)   For a copy of Paul's curriculum vitae, please click here.
