Background:

Scott Phillips, Associate Professor and Chair, received his PhD in Sociology from the University of Georgia in 2000. His research examines capital punishment, police use of force, and conflict management.  His research has been published in several journals, including:  Justice Quarterly, Law and Society Review, Criminology, Social Forces, and American Sociological Review.
