Pamyla Stiehl has a PhD and MA in theatre from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she also spent 10 years teaching numerous courses in musical theatre (both survey and performance), acting, page-to-stage, and theatre history and dance. She's also served as adjunct faculty at DU.
She has written articles published in national peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of American Drama and Theatre, Musical Theatre Studies, Theatre Journal, Journal of Theatre and Religion, and Texas Theatre Journal.
In addition to her teaching and writing, Pam is a member of Actor's Equity, having worked as a professional actor/singer/dancer for approximately two decades at local theaters such as the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities and Boulder's Dinner Theatre, as well as being part of the national tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Pamwon the Seattle Press Award for Best Lead Actress in a Musical (Peter Pan) and the Dora Award for Outstanding Ensemble: Theatre for Young Audiences (Wind in the Willows).
Along with her stage career and musical theater training under luminaries such as Ann Reinking and Debbie Allen, Pam has commercial, TV and industrial experience. She has also directed and choreographed a wide range of professional, semi-professional, community, and higher education theater productions in Boulder, Denver, Seattle and Toronto.
