PRODUCTION
Facilities
The Department of Theatre has two homes on DU campus:
The Newman Center for
the Performing Arts
Since 2002, the theatre program has used the Byron Flexible Theatre and Byron Studio to perform many of its productions. The Newman Center gives students access to a 79-seat rehearsal space, a shop and a 350-seat performance venue.
Johnson-McFarlane Hall
The Department of Theatre operates out of Johnson-McFarlane Hall. The location keeps students connected to the energy of campus life—J-Mac, as it's often called, is one of DU's many on-campus housing units—while providing ample learning and performance space. J-Mac houses the White Box and Black Box performance spaces, as well as all faculty offices.
