Education/Teacher Resources

Education trunks – Ludlow Massacre History Trunk

The Ludlow Massacre History Trunk is an excellent resource for Colorado history teachers. The trunk contains artifacts from the 1913-1914 Colorado Coal Field strike and war, a teacher’s guide, and lesson plans. The trunk also contains videotapes, an audio cassette of coal mining songs, photographs, maps, and newspaper articles. The trunk is appropriate for 4th – 8th grades.

The trunk is available for rental for $5.00, and may be checked out for two
weeks. Please contact Dean Saitta (dsaitta@du.edu or 303.871.2680) for more information.

*We are in the process of creating more educational trunks. Please check back soon for more trunks.

School tours
Although our gallery is small, DUMA welcomes schools to tour its exhibits. Most museum exhibits can be toured in 30 minutes or less. Please contact DUMA for more information on tours and programs.

Support the museum

The museum relies on the generosity of its visitors and supporters. Whether in the form of volunteer time, collection donations, or monetary gifts, this support is DUMA’s way of ensuring its continuation as a teaching museum for future generations of museum workers. Please contact DUMA today to discuss how you would like to help the museum accomplish its goals as a teaching museum.
