How to View and Accept, Reduce or Decline your Award
After you have applied for financial aid, you will be sent an email when your financial aid award is available for you to view and accept online. Use the steps below to learn how to view your award and accept, reduce or decline your aid. Additionally, you can watch our online how-to video.
Viewing your Award
To view your financial aid award:
- Go to http://webCentral.du.edu
- Log in using your DU ID# and passcode. (If this is your first time logging into webCentral, your passcode will be your 6-digit birthday in the MMDDYY format.)
- Go to the Student tab. If you are a new undergraduate student, go to the Admitted Students tab. If you are a new graduate students, go to the Incoming Grad Dashboard tab.
- Click on "View and Accept Award Offer."
- Select the appropriate aid year from the drop-down box.
- Click on the Award Overview tab to view (and print) both your cost of attendance and financial aid award.
Note that your cost of attendance is an estimate that will vary according to each individual student, and books, transportation and personal expenses are indirect costs (not billed by the University). In addition, these costs are divided evenly between fall, winter and spring quarter (fall and spring semester for law students), and do not include any estimates for the summer term.
Accepting, Reducing or Declining your Aid
After reviewing your award on the Award Overview tab:
- Go to the Terms and Conditions tab
- Review the terms and conditions of your award and click "Accept." A PDF of these terms is also available to download for your records.
- After accepting the Terms and Conditions, go to the Accept Award Offer tab.
For each type of aid (except for certain scholarships that are already accepted on your behalf), you can choose to accept, reduce or decline the amount offered to you:
- To accept an award, select "Accept" in the drop down menu.
- To accept a partial amount, select "Accept" in the drop down menu and enter an amount in the box to the right.
- To decline an award, select "Decline" in the drop down menu.
Once you have made a decision on each type of aid, click on the "Submit Decision" button.
Important Notes
- Once a student has accepted or declined awards, changes can ONLY be made by contacting the Office of Financial Aid
- All accepted and partially accepted aid will be automatically split between fall, winter and spring quarters (fall and spring semesters for law students).
- First-time students who accepted a Direct subsidized or unsubsidized loan must also complete a Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling online at www.studentloans.gov.
