Partnerships with affiliated and unaffiliated organizations give DU students many opportunities to diversify their practice.
Get involved with CO-LAB, a trans-disciplinary forum open to all graduate and advanced undergraduate students in Electronic Media Arts Design, Art Studio, Art History, Digital Media Studies, and Mass Communications and Journalism Studies.
Contemporary Art Colorado
Collaborate. The Myhren Gallery at SAAH is a founding member of CAC, an informal association of 13 arts organizations formed for the purpose of advancing contemporary art in Colorado. Student Gallery Assistants work with CAC members to develop exhibitions and events in Denver and beyond.
Denver Art Museum
Intern at the DAM. Through a long-standing partnership, museum curators, conservators, and educators from the Denver Art Museum teach courses at DU and open museum collections to students from the graduate Museum Studies program and other classes.
Denver West Office Park
Exhibit you work off campus. The Denver West office park has created a site specific area for exhibitions by DU students. Denver West provides art materials, frames, and awards for outstanding art students. Other opportunities to exhibit at sites as diverse as the Denver International Airport and non-profit art galleries also abound.
Donate. This volunteer membership group supports the work of the SAAH, organizes tours of private collections, and provides unique opportunities to meet with collectors and artists.
Studio Art Centers International
Travel abroad. The SAAH is a member of the SACI Consortium and many of our students choose to spend a semester in Florence, Italy, where they study art history, art conservation, jewelry, fibers, architecture and planning, video, photography, painting, printmaking and sculpture. SACI offers scholarships to Consortium students and is part of the Cherrington Program.
Show art work in SAAH's student-run gallery, in room 023 of Shwayder Art Building. Shows art created by and/or curated by students. Past exhibits include graffiti art, the art of tattoo, art by elementary school children, and the work of many DU students.
Participate with Isms a club for all things art at the University of Denver. ISMS organizes field trips and activities throughout the school year. Participation is welcome from anyone with a love for visual art in any and all of its forms--you don't have to be good at art to love it! ISMS goal is to build a community for the arts that extends beyond the School of Art and Art History to the DU community at large. Give us a look!
