The Regional Association of Preservation
The Regional Alliance for Preservation (RAP) began in February 1997 as a pilot project of the Commission on Preservation and Access (Washington, DC) to foster cooperation among the Preservation Field Service programs funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Smithsonian Center for Materials Research and Education
Originally established in 1963, principally to provide technical support to the Smithsonian museums in the analysis and conservation needs of the collections, the Smithsonian Center for Materials Research and Education (SCMRE) moved in 1983 to the then newly completed Museum Support Center, to embark on a mission of independently formulated programs in research and education in conservation and scientific studies of collection materials, serving a nationwide and international professional audience.
United Kingdom Institute for Conservation
The United Kingdom Institute for Conservation exists to foster excellence in the provision of conservation services, to raise awareness of the importance of conservation skills, and to provide information and advice to those requiring conservation services. Its purpose is to benefit the public and the quality of care of the nation’s heritage.
Western Association for Art Conservation
WAAC, the Western Association for Art Conservation, is a nonprofit membership organization for professional conservators. WAAC was founded in 1975 to bring together conservators practicing in the western United States to exchange ideas, information and news. Although WAAC is specifically a regional organization for the western states including Alaska and Hawaii, any individual or institution may become a member regardless of location or national boundary. All payments to WAAC, however, must be drawn on a US bank in US dollars.
