Ashley Buderus is currently the Director of Planned Giving for the University of Denver. She has served the University of Denver for the past five years, in a variety of fundraising positions. In her current role, Ashley works with donors and their advisors to explore gift strategies with complex tax and legal implications. Primarily, she works with donors who are interested to make five to seven figure gifts to support endowments and capital projects. Ashley also partners with university-wide development staff to train and provide advice on planned gift strategies to enhance their portfolios and donors’ impact.
Ashley first came to DU as the Director of Development for Penrose Library, where she led annual, major, and planned gift programs, as well as directed special events, community outreach, and marketing initiatives. She also served as a major gift officer for university priorities.
Ashley was a Fellow with El Pomar Foundation from 2005 to 2008 and served as the Alumni Representative to the Board in 2011. She now serves on the Denver Regional Council and Trustee Council. Ashley remains active in nonprofit organizations in the Denver area and recently served on the board for Rocky Mountain Active 20-30. She earned her bachelor’s degree in international business from the University of Denver and her master’s degree in nonprofit management from Regis University. Outside of work, Ashley is an avid runner and road biker.
