Marlena Porras is one of the Data and Gift Specialists for the University of Denver. She researches and processes all types of gifts from a variety of sources. She also updates records and performs quality data control reports. She is in charge of uploading the data from our calling program RuffaloCody, verifying the information provided by the program.
She started at the University of Denver in spring 2007 as a student fundraiser, making connections with alumni and constituents. Promoted as Student Supervisor, she managed the callers and called top prospects. During her time as a caller she raised over $15,000 for the University. Marlena then helped close down the calling program (which was then a program within Annual Giving) at the end of the Fiscal year 2008. She has been working in University Advancement during that time as well, implementing several projects for all units in advancement and expanding her knowledge in the higher education advancement system. During her time here, she has transformed the image database tremendously.
Marlena attended the University of Denver. She takes care of her three daughters and already serves as a key person in their school’s fundraising events and volunteer opportunities.
