Saskia Sawyer joined the University of Denver in August 2008 as the Assistant to the Deputy Vice Chancellor. She became the Associate Director of Gifts and Records in 2010, and the Director of Gifts and Records in 2012. In her role she is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely processing and receipting of all charitable donations and pledges made to the University of Denver. She serves as a resource and partner for University Advancement and the greater campus community to ensure that all donations made to the University are in compliance with IRS rules and regulations and CASE reporting standards, follow donor intentions, and are in line with the University’s mission.
Originally from Germany, Saskia moved to San Francisco in 1998. She worked as a producer for a computer game company before moving to Washington D.C. in 2002. In 2007, she left her job as an Executive Assistant for the Boston Consulting Group and moved to Denver to welcome her first child.
Outside of University Advancement, Saskia has been involved in many groups and initiatives. Most notably, she served as UA's representative on the Staff Advisory Council since 2009 and the President of the Staff Advisory Council since 2011. She also helped launch the University of Denver’s Green Office Program, for which she received the Green Pioneer Award in 2012. She serves on the Board at the Washington Street Community Center and is the President of the Board at the Schulhaus Denver.
Saskia is a University of Denver alum (BA ’12) and lives with her husband Ben and daughter Lia in West Washington Park in Denver.
