A JPG file is a compressed image suitable for screen-based applications such as PowerPoint presentations. JPG images can easily be incorporated into MS Word documents, and they usually print well on laser printers. However, they are NOT suitable for materials that will be professionally printed.
A TIF file is a flexible file format suitable for print applications. TIF images work well in page layout applications such as QuarkXpress and Adobe InDesign. They can also be placed in MS Word documents.
