Angel

AngelAngel is a 5th grade student who participates in the Bridge Project at the South Lincoln site. Angel has been a Bridge Project participant for the past 5 years. He enjoys coming to Bridge each day because he loves to learn. He especially enjoys his weekly tutoring sessions with a Bridge volunteer, with whom he has been working with for the past two school years.

Angel and his tutor enjoy reading together each week and looking up information on the internet. They also enjoy playing strategic games, such as Chess and Mancala.

Angel feels like his tutor is not only someone who helps him with his schoolwork, but also a friend. The two can often be seen laughing and smiling during the sessions, thus validating the strength and closeness of the relationship. Angel views his tutor as a role model and often says how he much he enjoys their time together each week. Angel also feels more confident in his schoolwork, as his tutor’s dedication and commitment has helped him make progress in school.

Brent Morse

Brent MorseBrent Morse is a business professional who works in the oil and gas industry in Denver. He was first introduced to the Bridge Project over five years ago when he attend the annual gala event with a friend.  After learning more about the Bridge Project and meeting several Bridge participants, Brent decided to get more involved with the program. Brent became a volunteer tutor in the After-School program, working with a child one hour per week. Over the years, Brent continued to tutor several children at Bridge, including one particular student who he has worked with consistently for the past two years. Their relationship continues to grow stronger with each session and Brent can clearly see the academic progress his student has made. Brent’s consistency and dedication has not only helped this child succeed in school, but has given him the support and motivation necessary to reach his full potential.
